3 Fat Girl Friendly Bathing Suit Styles

If you’re like me summer time is a bitter sweet time of year.  You look forward to vacations, warm weather and beaches but you dread the thought of having to try on last year’s bathing suit or even worse…buy a new one.  I know I know!  YIKES right?  The mere idea of trying on a new bathing suit…let alone wearing it in public repulses me too.  However, last year I invested in a tankini top with a skort Bottom from Avenue.com and it fit perfectly on me and I don’t have any fears of the pool or the beach anymore.  At least for now while I work on my weight loss again!  Take a look at these 3 styles below.  They are Fat Girl Friendly and will help you gain more confidence to strut your sexy stuff this summer!

Tankini + Multiple Bottoms (two piece)

I love the idea of the mix and match top and bottom.  There are many different styles to choose from but my favorite for coverage and for confidence is the Halter Tankini/Skort option.  The top ties around the back of your neck and has under wire inside for support in some cases.  (I suggest that, mine doesn’t have it and sometimes I have to pin it or wear a bra under it.)  They are usually a little loose towards the bottom and sometimes have a tighter liner on the inside.  The skort option is great for hiding any self conscience areas and the skirt part is a little flirty without risking exposure of course.  I like this one from SwimSuitsForAll.com.  It’s currently on sale for $40.92 which is a GREAT price for a plus size bathing suit.  Check out a few of these other examples.

Swimdress

Another favorite of mine is the swim dress.  It’s form fitting at the top and then flows out like a dress at the bottom.  There are several different variations of it and it can also come with the under wire.  The great thing about a swim dress is you may not even have the need or desire to wear a cover up.  They vary in length and style in the top.  My favorite is this one from AlwaysForMe.com and is priced at $59.00.  The print is really pretty and I like the halter design.  Check out a few other ones I have found.

Ruffled Bathing Suit

I LOVE ruffles!  They are great at hiding little imperfections and they are so cute.  You don’t have to have a completely ruffled bathing suit to get the effect.  I found a few that I like and you can find ruffles on the styles listed above too.  You just have to be willing to search for it.  This one is through Torrid.com which I love.  They have some really cute clothes however a little more expensive then I would like.  This Retro Chic style is priced at $68.50.  Torrid has some store locations but the closest one to me is about an hour and a half away.  Look at these other examples for more ideas!
