Blogging and The Arizona Steakhouse Experience…

James and IOne of my best friends James and I are constantly together…constantly!  We enjoying going out in Greenville, meeting new people and eating at some of Greenville’s fine restaurants.  In an effort to BLOG more, James suggested that I blog about our outings to various locations in Greenville.

We frequent TGI Fridays and Liberty Tap Room the most I would say.  We have our favorite waiters there and normally ask for them specifically.  TGI Fridays is always good if you get Eli (AKA Captain Hook and YES you should ask him why as long as you enjoy a good laugh) or Amanda (who is about to have a little baby girl and wears the coolest earrings!), your in great hands!  Over at Liberty you should ask for Adam on the weekends or Shane.  We have followed Adam for about 3 years now.  We followed him from Cheeseburger in Paradise.  You won’t be disappointed.  Also while your there ask for the MGR John, he’s good people and tell him we sent you.  Oh and unless you like kids, never go to TGIF’s on Tuesdays, it’s kids night and we avoid it like the plague.

So tonight I got to pick and James never lets me go to where I REALLY want to go so we decided to try Arizona Steakhouse.  I used to go there all the time when my friend Lea worked there and get the Vegetable Plate with cheese on it.  It was always amazing!  Times they are a changing!

First off the waitress was great, I don’t remember her name, but she did her job well.  James (bless his heart) refused to actually LOOK at the menu and order something on it.  Instead he proceeded to go through his mental filing cabinet of the items he liked to eat and just ask if they had them…they didn’t.

I had the prime rib soup.  Yes I know it’s meat and yes I know I am supposed to be a vegetarian.  I figured I did really well for a month so I wanted some meat and it was a little so I ate it.  It was pretty good.  James ordered Sedona Chicken which is supposed to be similar to Outbacks Alice Springs Chicken…it wasn’t.  It wasn’t good at all.  I also ordered the Veg plate and asked about cheese.  They don’t have cheese.  All they have is little crumbles of white nastiness.  But when I asked for bread…they only had cheese bread…with cheese on it.  Hmmm…why couldn’t I get that on my veggies?  My zucchini was cold and tasted like butane…not the grilled flavor the menu had promised me.  They might as well have taken a lighter to it.  Yuck!

We did however get desert.  A brownie with ice cream and a apple pecan cobbler with ice cream.  They’ll do in a pinch.  The brownie I enjoyed but the other had that nice thick ring of water around the outside of the bowl that just screamed out “they just took me out of the freezer and flash heated me up” and so I couldn’t eat anymore.

Tea was great…which is a must with us.

I was disappointed that it wasn’t as good as I remember.  I expect a place that charges THAT much for food to be somewhat on point.  Needless to say I won’t convince James to go there anymore.

On a scale of 1-10 Brownies (1 being poorly and 10 being excellent), we rated this restaurant:chocolate_brownies chocolate_brownieschocolate_brownies

We made the mistake of going to TGI Fridays on a Tuesday as well. Big mistake! I’m sure once I have kids it’ll be an inexpensive way to treat them but for now…never again! Haha. I love Liberty when its warm out. Great place for patio drinking 🙂
