St. Patrick’s Day Parties in NC, SC and GA

sp

St. Patrick’s Day has never been a big deal to me but in doing some research I see to many people, it’s a huge celebration.  I must admit, I do love the green beer!  Mostly because it’s my favorite color.  Here in Greenville, I know there are plenty of ways to celebrate but if you’re an explorer like me, there are lots of big celebrations here in the Southeast.  Check them out!  And don’t forget to pick out something green to wear!

Greenville, SC

March 15th – St. Paddy’s Dash and Bash – Don your green and join other Greenvillians in a 5K Run/Walk for charity!  $30 gets you entrance into the race, a long sleeve t-shirt and refreshments.  After the run, enjoy free green beer, a costume contest, silent auction, music by The Sound Committee and stay for the game at Flour Field.  Money goes to benefit Make-A-Wish South Carolina, Camp Spearhead and Let There Be Mom.

North Myrtle Beach, SC

March 15th – St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival – The parade starts at 8:50am and is immediately followed up by the festival.  NMB is one of my favorite vacation destinations so this should be fun!  Looks like they will have plenty of food and arts and crafts vendors so definitely worth the look if you are in the area.  (Especially my Florence friends!)

Myrtle Beach, SC

March 15th – St. Patrick’s Day Celebration 2014FREE CONCERTS ALL DAY!  Look there’s free admission, free music, authentic Irish food and beverages AND you can hit this one after the North Myrtle Beach celebration.  Hey moms, there’s also a Alcohol Free Kids Zone for a G-rated celebration.

Columbia, SC

March 15th – St. Pats in Five Points – A little closer to home for me and I have to tell ya, Cola really does celebrations right.  They have a run, they have a parade, they have a playland, there’s music…and food…and beer OH the beer and they even have a way to get you home.  (The Five Points Association and Checker Yellow will cover the first $10 to your destination so NO REASON to drive recklessly.)  Check em’ out if you are looking for a 5 star party!  (If that wasn’t enough, they also donate to charity!)

Savannah, GA

March 17th – Savannah St. Patrick’s Day Parade – I’ve never been…but anytime anyone ever mentions St. Patty’s Day, Savannah is ALWAYS mentioned.  Aside from being a neat town, they have a few events to get you excited.  They will have Clydesdale there and Irish Air Corps Drum Band.  Check out the website for places to find bleachers and the parade route.  Worth a visit!

Atlanta, GA

March 15th – Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade – Also featuring the Budweiser Clydesdale, Atlanta is a parade to see if you can’t make it to Savannah on Monday.  Ireland’s Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Leo Varadkar TD, is the Grand Marshal.  This is a great pick for a family friendly event!

Charlotte, NC

March 15th – Charlotte St. Pats Day Parade and Charlotte Goes Green Festival – Looks like this is an dall day event folks!  Starting at 10am and going until 6pm, with an after party somewhere I am sure, you can get your green fix in Charlotte.  Make sure you visit the US Airways booth during the parade to sign up for the Trip to Ireland!

There are plenty of other parties going on this weekend so do a quick Google search and figure out which one is best for you.  Don’t forget to check out my options for Green Clothing and always drink responsibly!  What are you doing this year?  Don’t forget to post your pictures to my FGF Facebook Page!

  1. These sounds like fun, I’ll have to see if there is anything like this in my area. Thanks for linking up with Hump Day Happenings, you have been pinned! Megan and I are so glad to have you in our SITS group this week and very glad you joined us for our link party. Hope to see you next week!

Thanks for the #humpdayhappenings invite and shout out! Pretty cool! Glad to be connecting with you guys too. Hey I have a friend in Gainesville, Mary Fox, I think she goes to UAF too. I know it’s a long shot but we met over the love for a band from there, Colourslide, when they were here in Greenville. Maybe you know her, if you don’t…you should. 🙂

I’ve never been much of a St. Patty’s Day celebrator, but I might this year. I just moved up to Cola, so thanks for sharing the Five Points option. Would be a great time for me to check out that area.

Visiting from SITS Spring Fling (Group 3).

Hi Courtney! So nice to meet you. I’m from your group on the SITSgirls forum. I’m with you, St. Patrick’s Day is not a huge deal to me. I’ve never even tried green beer! I just might now, since you say it’s good. If I was in the area though, I’d have to think about attending some of these fun parties!

See you around the forum : )

Hey Megan – Thanks for stopping by! Hmmm Green Beer…lol I think the novelty of it is better than the taste. It’s really no different so you aren’t missing out too much! Nonetheless stay safe this weekend and see you around too!!!
